P & L Heat Treating, Inc., Youngstown, Ohio, has been in business for 32 years; it was incorporated in 1978 and started production in 1979 by President William H. Pociask. P & L Heat Treating started out with limited equipment including two high-heat austenitizing furnaces, and two tempering furnaces. By 1982, a second building was added, in turn, doubling the company’s size.

P & L Heat Treating is now operated out of 25,000 ft² of space with 26 employees. Tooling for aluminum extrusions makes up 15% of the business and the rest of the business is concentrated on various heat treating processes. Heat treating processes are performed in a 10 bar vacuum furnace, atmosphere batch furnaces, and various tempering furnaces. P & L Heat Treating also offers cold treatment.

P & L Heat Treating, Inc. is committed to the highest standard of quality control; having 3 furnaces that are nuclear certified; and temperature controllers and hardness testers, which are certified on a regular basis. The employees of P & L Heat Treating are trained to maintain the highest quality of work through on the job training and formal education.
